Illustration, science communication and design services uplifting the work of academics and change-makers.
Sarah Battle is an award-winning visual communications specialist with over twenty years of experience and a strong foundation in aesthetic principles (Graphic Design BFA). Her early career was spent working in the frenetic atmosphere of advertising agencies and creative studios of London and Washington, DC immersed in logo/brand development work. From there, moving on to marketing the District of Columbia through the city government's tourism bureau and convention center. Then as the in-house creative for a lobbying firm, Sarah acted as the design specialist for a highly strategic communications team influencing public policy. Following a move to the west coast, she worked as lead marketing designer directing a small creative team before moving on to serve world-class scientists at one of NOAA's federal laboratories.
While serving various industries, she has always been a self-employed freelance artist and through her clients and past employers produced a diverse portfolio of print and digital, client-focused solutions.
Throughout her career, Sarah has been providing support services to academics and policymakers as well as developing brand campaigns for non-profits—eager to do good work for those who do a public good. She also brings experience managing associate/junior designers and art directed freelancers, created and have followed packaging/printing die lines, comfortable in a leading role or fulfilling production on projects, and coordinated with vendors, conference booth installation teams and photographers. In many cases Sarah has been project/production manager, improving process inefficiencies for more streamlined results.
Sarah Battle Graphic Design, LLC is a single-member limited liability company formed in 2026. Freelance projects welcome :)
